BRIM RECEIVES ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD

Brim receives environmental award. Icelandic fishing company and seafood processor, Brim, has received The Environmental Awards of Confederation of Iceland Enterprises for the year 2019.
President of Iceland, Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, presented the awards to Guðmundur Kristjánsson, CEO of Brim, at a ceremony on the Environmental Day of Iceland Industries.
According to the jury of The Environmental Awards, Brim has had a firm grip on environmental issues. “The company emphasises social responsibility and respect for the environment and has monitored and measured the wider impact of its operations. Brim has set targets and developed reliable methods to measure results, reduce waste and increase value of all processes. The company has reduced significantly the omission of CO2 and invested in new technology and fishing vessels with good returns. “
At the Awards ceremony Guðmundur Kristjánsson said that everyone at Brim were grateful for the Awards and the recognition of the commitment to the environment. “The Awards make us happy and proud. Respect for nature has been our guiding light and we see that efforts towards sustainability and improved environment are increasing return of our operations and bring benefits for the society at large. We at Brim will continue on this path. The Environmental Awards are encouragement to do even better.“
