ECUADOR FIRST CLASS SHRIMP SHOWCASED AT ECUADOR’S NATIONAL DAY IN WASHINGTON D.C.

For the first time, the Ecuadorian shrimp industry, represented by the National Chamber of Aquaculture, joined Ecuador’s National Day celebration at the Embassy of Ecuador in Washington D.C. This high-level diplomatic event coincided with the presentation of credentials of the new Ecuadorian Ambassador to the President of the United States, offering a unique opportunity to position Ecuador First Class Shrimp as a national emblem of excellence.

As the world’s leading shrimp producer, Ecuador used this occasion to showcase not only the economic significance of the industry but also its cultural and social importance. Ecuador First Class Shrimp was present in every detail of the celebration, reinforcing the image of shrimp as a national product that represents innovation, sustainability, and pride.

Guests experienced a multi-sensory journey through Ecuador’s flavors and identity. The decoration and atmosphere at the Embassy highlighted shrimp as a flagship product, while renowned chef Pedro José Proaño delighted attendees with a curated menu featuring shrimp as the centerpiece. His creations demonstrated the versatility of Ecuadorian shrimp, from sophisticated canapés to dishes that seamlessly combined tradition with modern gastronomy.

In parallel, technical and educational materials were presented, including the Shrimp Nutrition Guide and the Ultimate Shrimp Guide, reinforcing Ecuador’s leadership in transparency, health, and sustainability. This integral message underscored the industry’s capacity to meet global demands while maintaining the highest standards of responsibility and excellence.

The event gathered influential audiences, including representatives from the National Security Council (NSC), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), among others. Their presence highlighted the relevance of Ecuador’s shrimp sector not only in trade but also in the conversations around global food security, nutrition, and sustainable sourcing.

“Presenting Ecuador First Class Shrimp at such a significant diplomatic moment allowed us to position our product as more than seafood; it is a national ambassador of excellence, sustainability, and cultural identity,” – Jose Antonio Camposano, National Chamber of Aquaculture.

As the United States continues to be one of the primary destinations for Ecuadorian shrimp exports, this milestone strengthens the brand’s reputation at the highest levels. The participation in Washington D.C. paves the way for future institutional and commercial collaborations, reinforcing Ecuador’s role as the global benchmark in premium shrimp production.
