Final day of the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition. The 2022 Icefish exhibition closed its doors on Friday 10th June after three successful days of contract signings, ‘Meet-the-Buyer’ sessions and product launches.
The Icefish awards also made a welcome return, where excellence within the Icelandic and International Fishing Industry is highlighted and commended. The popular Icefish matchmaking meetings returned, with participants all ready to form business partnerships and explore new markets. The Icefish matchmaking meetings provide a platform for attendees to meet with new, innovative companies in a ‘Meet-the-Buyer” format. Attendees commented on their positive experience, adding that the short 20 minute meetings provide both a time and cost effective way to meet with interested companies who are ready to buy. The meetings were organised by Innovation Center Iceland, coordinator of the Enterprise Europe Network Iceland, and co-organised by the Sector Group Maritime Industries & Services of the Enterprise Europe Network.
The 4th Fish Waste for Profit conference took place from the 9-10 June. Delegates were able to meet in an intimate networking environment and make excellent new international connections. Discussions included the flexibility within the fishing industry in Iceland and the endless possibilities that exist for those looking to find a use for discarded by products.
The conference highlighted many speakers who were able to share their expertise on how to achieve 100% utilisation of the catch – from heads and bones, to skin and viscera. Delegates were able to learn, network
