Fully Electric Utility Vessel Offered for Sale Following Coastal Workboats Administration
Final Call – Offers are due by June 19th 2026
A pioneering fully electric landing utility vessel developed for the aquaculture and commercial workboat sectors has been placed on the market by global asset specialists Gordon Brothers following the administration of Coastal Workboats Scotland Limited.
The sale presents a rare opportunity for operators to acquire what is understood to be the UK’s first fully electric zero-emissions commercial landing utility vessel, the E-LUV 2208, together with its associated power storage system.
The vessel is being offered for sale by private treaty on behalf of the joint administrators of the Scottish shipbuilder. Located in Scotland, the E-LUV 2208 remains partially completed, with limited fit-out work outstanding, allowing a purchaser to tailor the final specification to operational requirements.
Designed for a range of maritime applications including aquaculture support, workboat operations and local ferry services, the vessel was developed by Coastal Workboats Scotland in collaboration with Damen Shipyards as part of efforts to accelerate decarbonisation across the maritime sector.
Key specifications include:
- Length overall: 22.3m
- Beam: 8.4m
- Draught: 1.7m
- Deck area: 120m² with 2.5t/m² deck strength
- 15mm bottom plate for grounding durability
- 40-tonne capacity bi-fold bow ramp
- Gross tonnage: 101 GT
- Deck cargo capacity: 60 tonnes
According to Gordon Brothers, the vessel offers potential buyers a significant first-mover advantage as operators increasingly seek low and zero-emission solutions for coastal and aquaculture operations.
Oliver Veart, Director, Commercial & Industrial at Gordon Brothers, said:
“The E-LUV represents a rare opportunity to acquire a truly pioneering asset. For the right buyer, the vessel offers a compelling first-mover advantage in the transition to green maritime operations. We are inviting serious enquiries from buyers looking to lead in the future of commercial workboat operations.”
Offers are due by June 19th 2026.
