Grimsby Seafood Executives Recognised

Seafood business leaders from the “Made Great in Grimsby” region were recently recognised in the IntraFish ‘Seafood Power Top 100 Executives’ – influencing the global seafood sector.

In Grimsby, senior executives from prominent seafood companies were honoured for their contributions. Dan Aherne from New England Seafood International, Simon Smith from Young’s Seafood, and Matt Lee from Hilton Seachill were acknowledged, alongside Simon Dwyer from Seafox Management Consultants, marking the first recognition of his role.

Seafox, known for managing the business affairs of the region’s seafood cluster membership organisations, earned acclaim from IntraFish, who proclaimed, “When you think of Grimsby, you think of Simon Dwyer.”

Moreover, top executives from leading seafood organisations investing in Grimsby and the Humber were highlighted. This included Nissui and Maruha from Japan, Samerjhi based in Iceland, Espersens from Denmark, and Pelagia from Norway.

The Seafood Power Top 100, recognised by IntraFish, serves as a guide to the most influential executives in the industry today. Their power is defined by their ability to shape markets, take calculated risks that prompt reactions from competitors, and drive bold initiatives that propel the industry forward.

Cllr Philip Jackson, leader of the North East Lincolnshire Council and holder of the economic portfolio, praised the significance of seafood processing in the region, acknowledging the tireless efforts of business leaders in enhancing the international cluster of businesses and skilled workers.

Ruth Carver, CEO of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, commended the impressive investment in the region’s seafood processing sector, particularly through overseas ownership. This investment not only lays the groundwork for further economic growth but also positions the region as a target for advancements in automation, innovation, skills development, and new technologies such as land-based farming. Carver extended congratulations to all executives recognised for their valuable contributions to this vital regional industry.
