Icelandic total fish catch in September was 131 thousand tonnes. The fish catch in September 2025 amounted to 131 thousand tonnes, which is 34% more than in September 2024. Demersal catch decreased by 14% between years and was nearly 31 thousand tonnes, while pelagic catch was 98 thousand tonnes, an increase by 65%.
During the twelve-month period from October 2024 to September 2025, the total catch was 1,039 thousand tonnes compared with 1,000 thousand tonnes one year earlier which is a 4% increase.
