IFFO FOCUSES ON INCREASED COLLABORATION

IFFO FOCUSES

IFFO focuses on increased collaboration. This year’s IFFO Annual Conference will be held in Shanghai from 4 to 6 November and will be an opportunity to celebrate IFFO’s 60th anniversary.

The packed agenda will communicate the marine ingredients industry’s position as a vital part of the global food production system. This Annual Conference is dedicated to strategic thinking on the industry’s contribution to the future of food and to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, especially the Preserving Life Below Water Goal (SDG14). The speakers will also look at the ways that digital tools (such as Blockchains and New B2C distribution channels of fresh seafood) are transforming the industry and the whole value chain.

IFFO is an international trade organisation that represents and promotes member companies in the fishmeal and fish oil industry worldwide. Enjoying global respect and recognition, we represent our members at all relevant international forums, including holding observer status at the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the EU Commission and Parliament and work with leading NGOs in responsible management of fisheries.

IFFO’s Director General, Petter Johannessen, said: “This conference is an opportunity to demonstrate the sustainability of the marine ingredients industry and its contribution to the challenge of feeding a growing population in need for proteins. We want to address the ever-present need for more collaboration not just with marine ingredients industry but throughout the value chains.”

Registration is open to all until 18 October via a dedicated website. The sponsors for this event include Coland, Intertek, Haarslev, Dupps, SGS, Sifang, Blueline Foods, and Teampower.
