LAXEY COMPLETES FIRST HARVEST

Project timeline:
• November 2023 – first eggs received
• November 2024 – first transfer to grow-out
• November 2025 – first harvest executed

In under 23 months from receiving the first eggs, LAXEY has harvested 4-5 kg Atlantic salmon, validating the biological and operational model under commercial conditions. The harvest also served as the first performance test of the processing facility and all systems operated according to plan. This is in line with Laxey plan presented to investors 3 years ago.

The fish demonstrated strong biological indicators, consistent conformation, and attractive fillet colour, supporting confidence in long-term product quality and production performance.

“This is an important step in our development. The project has advanced steadily on schedule, and we now transition toward steady-state production, powered by strong team effort” says Kristmann Kristmannsson, Head of Processing and Procurement.

The company will now scale harvest volumes and commence regular export shipments of fresh Icelandic salmon to international markets. LAXEY continues to build operations in strong collaboration with the local community in Vestmannaeyjar, leveraging local knowledge and expertise as production ramps up. Next year harvest volumes will reach 5000 tones.
