Loch Duart Make Shortlist – Loch Duart Shortlisted for Made In Scotland Exporter of the Year 2019

Loch Duart, the salmon farm based in Sutherland and the Uists, has been shortlisted as ‘Exporter of the Year’ for the 2019 Insider Made in Scotland Awards. The independent Scottish business has demonstrated outstanding export growth with export sales having increased by 68% over the last two financial years to an all-time high for the business.

It’s a chance to reflect on how we’ve grown in both scale and reputation, with around 70% of our salmon being exported to over 20 countries. Our foreign customers love Loch Duart salmon and are particularly keen on the quality, exclusivity and provenance of the brand. The Scottish Business Insider Awards, in conjunction with the University of Strathclyde’s Advanced Forming Research Centre, are now in their fourth year and celebrate inspiring businesses that innovate, invent, design and manufacture products in Scotland. Winners will be announced at the Awards, hosted by Fred MacAuley, which take place on Thursday 9^th May 2019 at the Glasgow Science Centre.

Loch Duart has recently made significant capital investment to future-proof and support the growth of the business, including over three quarters of a million pounds on fish health and welfare and over £3m on boats, feeding equipment and other marine assets, which keeps the focus on fish health, something Loch Duart is renowned for globally.
