“Launching the trawler Kapitan Sokolov is a very important and significant event for the domestic fishery industry. This is a step towards a more efficient development of aquatic biological resources, new jobs, and the creation of competitive products with high added value. The investment quotas program, adopted as part of the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, is aimed at the deepest modernization of the fishing fleet. I am sure that the implementation of this program will make it possible to bring the fishery complex of the Russian Federation to a leading position in the world, ”stressed the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery.
Trawler ‘Kapitan Sokolov’ is designed for fishing with bottom and pelagic trawls in difficult sea conditions of the Arctic region, its full processing and storage on board. In addition, the processor trawler will be able to store up to 95 tons of canned fish.
The Kapitan Sokolov became the second fishing vessel to leave the stocks of Severnaya Verf under the investment quotas program. In total, the shipyard signed contracts for the construction of 14 fishing vessels: 10 trawlers and four longliners.
To date, within the framework of the mechanism of investment quotas, 43 contracts have been concluded for the construction of fishing vessels with an investment volume of 166 billion rubles (18 for the Far Eastern and 25 for the Northern fishing basins). In addition, 11 more applications have been approved and two are under consideration by the Federal Agency for Fishery. Thus, the total number of ships under construction under the keel quota program will reach 56.
