New top team at Mørenot Group, with Arne Birkeland  to become the new CEO of the Group, succeeding Knut Berge. Nils Erik Bjørkedal enters into a new role as COO and Hans Fredrik Furstrand is hired as new CFO. The changes are part of an ambitious 5-year growth plan for the Mørenot Group. The Board of Mørenot says it is pleased that Arne Birkeland, Hans Fredrik Furstrand and Nils Erik Bjørkedal have all accepted their respective positions. Birkeland´s latest position was as CEO in Westcon Group. He has extensive experience in global growth, change and efficiency processes, and is an energetic leader.

Hans Fredrik Furstrand last held the position as CFO of Optimar and is experienced within the industry, in shipping and fisheries, and in the establishment of professional global finance and reporting structures. Nils Erik Bjørkedal represents continuity, and his solid experience in finance, IT, processes and logistics from several companies will strengthen Mørenot’s focus on operational efficiency – within strategy implementation, and mergers and acquisitions.
The current changes are being made to ensure that the company can realise its growth plans, to ensure continuity in its international expansion and to secure jobs. The company states that its ambition is to position Mørenot as a leader within product development, consolidation, efficiency and further professionalisation of the industry.

Arne Birkeland becomes CEO on 1 November.

Asbjørn Reinkind has been elected as new Mørenot board member. Reinkind is currently an
independent consultant and board member and brings extensive experience from his time as Hydro
Seafood CEO and board member of Biomar, Grieg Seafood, Midt Norsk Havbruk and Domstein.
