Salmon by product group appoints new CEO. Biomega Group – the salmon byproducts company – has announced the appointment of Sten Estrup as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will assume the new role 1 October 2019.

Estrup comes with 25 years of experience across the food and health industry in executive roles in operations, sales, marketing and commercial development. Estrup joins Biomega Group from  a position as Executive Vice President of Asia Pacific & Latin America at Chr. Hansen, a leading bioscience company that develops natural solutions for the food, nutritional, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries.

The world of food production and agriculture is waiting for Biomega’s technology and expertise to help improve productivity and produce more with less”, said Estrup.

In agreement with Jørgen Horntvedt, the former CEO, Horntvedt has stepped down and will pursue other opportunities outside of Biomega. Thomas Samdal, the CFO of Biomega Group, has taken on the role as interim CEO until Estrup commences the position.
