SFPA publishes updated Fishery Products Transport Policy. The Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority (SFPA) has published its updated Transport Document Exemption Policy, together with an updated Transport of Fishery Products Fisheries Information Notice (FIN). The policy sets out when wild-caught fishery products may be transported before first sale without a transport document.
The updates to the Transport Document Exemption Policy simplify and align it with the amended Control Regulation and with Ireland’s control plan. The policy sets out the circumstances in which fisheries products may be transported without a transport document and the conditions attaching to those exemptions. Where an exemption does not apply, transport documents must be submitted electronically before transport of the fisheries products begins, in accordance with Article 68 of the amended Control Regulation.

The Transport of Fishery Products FIN has also been updated in line with the amended Control Regulation and its supplementing legislation.
The FIN includes:
- specific guidance on electronic submission of transport documentation and,
- clarification of the circumstances where a separate transport document is not required because the relevant information is already contained in other documentation.
