GSSI WELCOMES AMERICAN TUNA

GSSI welcomes American tuna to the GSSI Global Partnership. The Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI) is pleased to welcome American Tuna as its newest Funding Partner.

Founded to champion responsibly sourced, one-by-one caught tuna, American Tuna has spent more than two decades working with traditional pole-and-line and troll fisheries to bring responsibly harvested seafood to consumers across the United States. What began in 2004 with a commitment to support American fishing communities has since grown into partnerships with one-by-one fisheries around the world, from the Maldives to New Zealand.

Today, American Tuna offers a growing portfolio of responsibly sourced seafood products, working with retailers, distributors and private-label partners to make trusted, sustainable seafood more accessible while supporting the fishing communities at the heart of its supply chain.

By joining GSSI’s Global Partnership, American Tuna reinforces its commitment to credible seafood sustainability and collaboration across the seafood value chain. As a Funding Partner, the company joins a global network of seafood businesses, retailers, governments, NGOs and international organisations working together to strengthen trust in seafood certification and promote responsible seafood production worldwide.

“GSSI membership aligns with American Tuna’s commitment to responsibly sourced seafood, helping us demonstrate credibility, promote transparency, and support continuous improvement across the fisheries and communities we work with.”
