STRONG PRESENCE FROM THE FAROE ISLANDS AT ICEFISH

Strong presence from the Faroe Islands at IceFish. KJ-Hydraulic is among the growing number of companies exhibiting in the Faroese Pavilion at this year’s IceFish exhibition, taking place from 22–24 September.

A leading supplier of hydraulic systems and machinery, KJ-Hydraulic provides equipment, maintenance, and technical services to the fishing and aquaculture industries. As one of the Faroe Islands’ largest machinery companies, it serves both domestic and international markets, including Iceland, Scotland, Shetland, Denmark, and Norway.

With headquarters in Kambsdalur and additional departments in Tórshavn, Ljósá, and Fuglafjørður, KJ-Hydraulic has been a trusted partner to the Faroese fishing fleet for many years. The company is also supported by its Danish sister company, KJ Supply.

KJ-Hydraulic is a key player in the aquaculture sector, supplying a wide range of equipment and services, including catamarans, fish farming pens, current breakers, slaughter cages, and solutions for smolt hatcheries.

Most recently, the company signed an agreement with Bakkafrost to build a new catamaran designed to strengthen the company’s operational capabilities within aquaculture. The vessel will be the 66th catamaran constructed by KJ-Hydraulic and the 36th delivered to Bakkafrost.

Commenting on developments within the Faroese aquaculture industry, KJ-Hydraulic CEO Viggo Johannesen said:

“Over the years, we have seen strong growth in the sector, creating demand for larger service vessels at sea-based farming sites. The need for increased deck space and larger deck cranes means we must continue to develop larger catamarans. Today, our largest model measures 20 by 9 metres.”
