Aquafuture Spain 2025
Dates: May 20-22, 2025
Location: Ifevi Exhibition Centre, Vigo
The third edition of Aquafuture Spain, set to take place from May 20 to 22, 2025 at the Ifevi exhibition centre in Vigo, has reached a major milestone by securing 200 exhibitors from 27 countries—surpassing initial expectations and solidifying its position as a leading event in the global aquaculture industry.
This impressive achievement marks a 33% increase in exhibitors compared to the first two editions, reflecting the event’s growing influence. The decision to move the fair to Vigo in 2023 and establish it as a biennial event has clearly paid off. “With five months remaining before the event, we’ve already met our initial goals and continue to receive an overwhelming number of requests, prompting us to expand the event’s capacity,” said Juan Lijó, the director of the fair.
The rising interest in Aquafuture Spain is not only evident in the increased number of exhibitors but also in the growing demand for attendance. The organisers are expecting over 8,000 visitors across the three days of the fair, driven by an expanded programme and the event’s increasing international appeal.
The fair’s success is also underpinned by the support of key regional and national institutions, including Xunta de Galicia, Diputación de Pontevedra, Concello de Vigo, Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo, and Abanca. These institutions have emphasised the significance of holding Spain’s only aquaculture trade fair in Galicia, a region central to the aquaculture industry.
Aquafuture Spain extends beyond just exhibition booths. The event will feature an enhanced programme with more than 80 international speakers and a range of parallel activities designed to foster knowledge exchange and innovation.
Two dedicated presentation rooms will allow exhibitors to showcase their products, research, and technological advancements. In addition, a Conference Room will host seven round tables addressing strategic topics crucial to the international aquaculture sector.
As Aquafuture Spain continues to grow, it is firmly establishing itself as a vital meeting point for the global aquaculture community, drawing in companies, researchers, and professionals from all over the world. This growth highlights Galicia’s role as a hub for innovation in the aquaculture industry and reinforces Spain’s standing as a leader in this sector.
