SEAFOOD WEEK 2019

Seafood Week 2019. Seafood Week is an annual campaign aimed at getting more people to eat more fish, more often. Seafish runs the eight-day celebration every October and highlights the variety and quality of fish and shellfish on offer in the UK

The campaign is co-ordinated by od Week 2019 as a flexible platform for businesses and organisations from across the industry and throughout the supply chain to get involved. It is also an initiative to get more people excited about eating seafood.

Seafood Week 2018 Results

Seafood Week 2018 was even bigger and better than ever before and showcased a brand new look. The total campaign reach was over 416 million (+75% on last year) across all press activity with 188 pieces of coverage secured (+40% on last year).

Businesses across the whole supply chain got involved with great ways to buy, cook and dine out on great seafood choices; while also championing our Seafood Week initiative through their own marketing channels.

This year saw a 117% increase in social media engagement which encouraged the public to take part online, and gave businesses the opportunity for their brands to be more visible to potential customers. A different species was celebrated on each day of Seafood Week, with alternatives promoted to ensure that consumers are made aware of the great choice and quality available in the UK.

Events were held across the UK creating a buzz for seafood plus Seafood Week was even mentioned on TV. 2018 saw the launch of a partnership with The British Heart Foundation as part our health campaign promoting the health benefits of seafood.

Seafood Week 2019 will be held on 4th to 11th October 2019 so watch this space for some exciting news about what we have in store for it!
