YOUNG’S SEAFOOD EXHIBITS AT SEG BARCELONA

Young’s Seafood exhibits at Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global (SEG) Barcelona for the first time. Young’s Seafood, the UK’s biggest branded seafood business, is bringing its expertise to SEG Barcelona as it exhibits at the show for the first time.

Established over 200 years ago, Young’s Seafood has a long history as the experts in fish in the UK, with its products bought by one in three households. With the growth in value sales recently up by 11.5%, surpassing the 7.7% growth of Total Frozen Seafood, Young’s has outpaced the wider market to become the fastest growing brand in this category [1], and will be using SEG Barcelona as a chance to introduce its brand and successful ranges to the European market.

Young’s will be exhibiting alongside its parent company Sofina Europe, a leading supplier of both branded and own-label seafood and pork.

Ranges being exhibited include Young’s Gastro, the number one brand in premium frozen fish, which has welcomed over 500,000 new shoppers over the past year [2] as UK consumers look for delicious fish options that can replicate their favourite meals out due to the cost of living.

Alongside the Gastro range, Young’s will be showcasing its bestselling Chip Shop range, which recreates the famous British ‘Chippy Tea’ experience at home and is the nation’s favourite battered fish brand, as well as its core range of fish fingers and family friendly products.

The Barcelona showcase follows significant investment from Young’s into its market leading brands, including its first brand refresh in over 20 years. The new look, which was rolled out last year, brings to life the true story of the company’s founder Elizabeth Young and her family, who first started selling whitebait on the banks of the River Thames in 1805. The refreshed brand brings a fresh and contemporary look to Young’s’ ranges, while retaining its instantly recognisable blue and red brand colours.
