BIO-UV GROUP STRENGTHENS COLLABORATION WITH EUROPE’S LEADING TROUT PRODUCER

BIO-UV Group strengthens collaboration with Europe’s leading trout producer, Groupe Aqualande. BIO-UV Group, a specialist in water treatment and water disinfection using ultraviolet (UV), salt electrolysis, ozone, and AOP technologies, has announced the delivery, through its system integrator Nijhuis Saur Industries France, of a RW UV system to Groupe Aqualande, the European leader in aquaculture. This new order further consolidates the partnership between BIO-UV Group and the French based company.
For nearly 10 years, BIO-UV Group has been supporting Groupe Aqualande, Europe’s aquaculture benchmark, headquartered in the Landes region (Southwest of France). Groupe Aqualande operates across the entire aquaculture value chain through three divisions: breeding and reproduction (trout and marine fish), trout farming, and trout processing. BIO-UV Group has already equipped the hatcheries of “Fermes Marines du Soleil” (Aqualande’s marine fish subsidiary) near Sète on the Mediterranean with its UV reactors for water disinfection. These ultraviolet systems treat the freshwater used in rearing tanks, ensuring water free of micro-organisms and creating a healthy environment for the growth of high-quality fish.
BIO-UV Group has also supplied other Aqualande sites with specially designed UV reactors for sea-water treatment, such as the “Fermes Marines du Soleil” hatchery located near Oléron Island on the Atlantic shore. Each BIO-UV system is tailored to the specific needs of the fish farm, guaranteeing optimal disinfection performance.
“We are particularly satisfied with our partnership with BIO-UV Group. Their technology allows us to guarantee ideal water treatment conditions for producing premium-quality fish, while meeting strict environmental requirements,” explains Lionel Colin, EHSQ Director at Groupe Aqualande.
A new collaboration between Groupe Aqualande and BIO-UV Group
The Landes-based company recently upgraded its water treatment system for its fish processing facilities dedicated to food production, with a solution combining pumping, filtration, and UV disinfection. To meet their specific requirements, Aqualande partnered with BIO-UV Group’s partner and solution provider Nijhuis Saur Industries France to provide RW UV system. This unit ensures clean discharge water that complies with environmental standards, thereby protecting the local ecosystem.
Key benefits of BIO-UV Group’s RW system include:
- Continuous UV quality monitoring: Equipped with an ÖNORM-certified UV sensor, the reactor’s optimal performance is constantly supervised.
- Immediate effectiveness: Real-time disinfection takes place inside the reactor, eliminating the need for additional contact time after treatment.
- Environmentally friendly: No generation of harmful disinfection by-products.
- Cost-effective technology: Optimized CAPEX and OPEX.
Beyond the system’s performance, Groupe Aqualande chose BIO-UV Group for its high-quality customer service, technical expertise, and on-going support. At system commissioning, BIO-UV Group also provided product training to site personnel.
“We are proud to collaborate with Groupe Aqualande on this project, which perfectly reflects our commitment to sustainable water management. Our UV technology not only ensures effective disinfection but also helps protect the environment by avoiding the production of harmful by-products,” says Laurent-Emmanuel Migeon, CEO of BIO-UV Group.
