FISHING INTO THE FUTURE ANNOUNCES FINAL F-REP OF THE SEASON

FISHING INTO THE FUTURE ANNOUNCES FINAL

Fishing into the Future announces final F-REP of the season. Fishing into the Future (FITF) have announced their final Fisheries Resources Education Programme (F-REP) of the season will be taking place in Norwich between 3-6 March, 2026.

An F-REP is a three-day residential event designed to get people from the fishing industry, fisheries science and fisheries management to share knowledge, understand each other’s expertise and build connections, enabling everyone to work together more effectively in the long term. The team at FITF are working with a local steering committee to deliver a three-day programme tailored to the wide range of fisheries, gears, and business models operating across East Anglia, with an emphasis on shared learning between fishermen, fisheries managers and scientists.

This F-REP is targeted at commercial fishermen and seafood industry people working in East Anglia and the surrounding area, as well as people in government, seafood and research roles working closely with the industry. Sessions may focus on specific fisheries, including shellfish (crab, lobster, whelks, cockles, and brown shrimp) and fish (bass, sole and rays), but aims to ensure every participant finds value in attending by emphasising cross-industry networking and shared learning. FITF are encouraging applications from East Anglia and the surrounding area, as well as considering applications from those working with similar gears or species from across the UK.

This three-day residential event includes a full agenda and meals. Attendance to the F-REP is free, and FITF may be able to cover accommodation costs and/or reimburse travel for self-employed fishermen or for those working for smaller organisations that cannot cover these costs.
