MCGRAW SEAFOOD SCALES REDFISH CAPACITY WITH CARSOE AUTOMATED FACTORY LINE

McGraw Seafood scales redfish capacity

McGraw Seafood scales redfish capacity with Carsoe automated factory line

In 2025, McGraw Seafood partnered with Carsoe to integrate a new automated redfish line from receiving to automatic plate freezing inside the company’s existing New Brunswick facility. The project set clear goals: diversify production, protect product integrity, and reduce manual handling, all within a constrained footprint.

The installation is now complete and Carsoe’s turnkey approach centred on a double‑contact plate freezing and coherent downstream automation, delivered against a tight seasonal window.

“Impeccable installation, robust equipment, and a team dedicated to the success of the project.” commented Nicolas Forget, Project Manager at McGraw Seafood

Planning & design: fast alignment, clear expectations

The upfront work on the project focused on compressing decision cycles and preventing rework. This stage was critical to meet the deadlines. Weekly touchpoints kept both teams fully aligned as the build and installation approached.

“The consultation and initial support for the project were quick and greatly appreciated. The weekly follow-up meetings, especially as the installation approached, allow for effective monitoring and open and constructive exchanges”, Nicolas Forget, Project Manager at McGraw Seafood states.

To great satisfaction of both McGraw Seafood and Carsoe, precision did not suffer. The delivered line matched the agreed specification, with only routine finetuning during stabilization.

Nicolas Forget explains: “We are exactly where we wanted to be. Some adjustments are underway, but the delivered factory matches the specifications. What we expected was precisely what we received.”

Site coordination & Delivery: everything anticipated, everyone aligned

For a live facility, on‑time shipments and prepared receiving are critical. During this project, logistics were planned around heavy equipment, crane work, and staging to minimize downtime and accelerate floor placement.

Bertin Losier, Construction Supervisor at McGraw Seafood has been pleased with the process: “All the equipment arrived at the same time. Everything we needed was well anticipated”

And the equipment quality was evident at first sight: “From the moment the container was opened, the quality of the equipment was evident,” Bertin Losier says. For automated handling and hygienic design quality equipment matters to ensure reliable performance.

The processing line was installed with Carsoe installation engineers and McGraw technicians operating as one team with a shared focus on a clean, fast handover, and we are proud of the feedback from Bertin Losier and the rest of the McGraw team.

The Carsoe team was competent, respectful, and motivated. Their involvement demonstrated a genuine desire to succeed.

Results & partnership: measurable gains, responsive service

Post‑installation, McGraw reports immediate, tangible benefits. With quick service and assist form the Carsoe installation engineers, the operators were quick to learn how to operate the equipment and early‑run questions were solved. Once completed, capacity met targets and reliability is trending to plan as runtime accumulates.

“For now, capacity is satisfactory. Reliability will be confirmed over time, but everything seems to be in line,” Nicolas Forget explains and concludes: “Carsoe equipment appears solid and durable. Camille’s consistent support throughout the entire process was a major strength that allows us to recommend working with Carsoe in Canada.”
