NEW TEAM AT WICK HARBOUR
New team at Wick Harbour. Following the recent retiral of Harbour Master Malcolm Bremner, Ian Cormack has been promoted from Deputy Harbour Master and takes over marine responsibilities for Wick Harbour. His role will include upholding the regulatory demands of a statutory harbour authority and overseeing marine operations, staff and ongoing business development at the harbour.
Chairman John Mackay said:
“We are delighted to promote Ian into this role – he is a well known face around the harbour and community, and also through his work with Wick RNLI. Wick Harbour Authority has already benefited greatly from his input since he joined as Deputy Harbour Master 3 years ago.”
“In addition, we welcome Peter Sutherland as our newly appointed Deputy Harbour Master.”
Peter, from Forse Lybster, is presently employed by Condor Ferries on their cross channel routes , and he will be joining the team in January 2022 following completion of his notice period with his employers .
“I am looking forward to returning to a maritime shore based role closer to home and the challenges and opportunities offered in the role of Deputy Harbour Master at Wick.“

“We received a large number of candidates for the Deputy Harbour Master position, with applicants displaying a diverse range of skills and levels of experience. After a very robust and rigorous selection process, 6 strong candidates were shortlisted, with Peter being the successful applicant.”
“The board are therefore looking forward to Peter joining the team alongside Ian and the rest of the staff. We move forward with confidence at a time of increased interest in offshore renewables, whilst continuing to support our existing harbour users. “
