NORWEGIAN PELAGIC FLEET WINDS DOWN FOR CHRISTMAS

Norwegian pelagic fleet winds down for Christmas. It has been a quiet week for the Norwegian pelagic fleet, but there was some horse mackerel fishing.
It is apparent that large parts of the fleet have embarked upon their Christmas holidays. The last registration of a catch was reported on Friday 15 December.
Despite this, the horse mackerel fishery has been viable. A total of 186 tonnes were caught along the coast of Vestlandet and Rogaland, the catch coming from six different boats.
For mackerel, three purse seiners have contributed to a total catch of 278 tonnes. While for North Sea herring, 191 tonnes have been fished from two Norwegian boats and one foreign boat.
265 tonnes of Atlanti-Scandian herring were also caught, which come both from the Altafjord and from the coast south of Bodø. NORWEGIAN PELAGIC FLEET WINDS
