PELAGIA ACQUIRES UK SEAFOOD COMPANY

Pelagia acquires UK seafood company, Norwegian pelagic processor Pelagia has acquired 100% of the shareholding in Ideal Foods Limited and its subsidiaries.

Ideal Foods is an established and successful trader, headquartered in Cornwall, United Kingdom, specialising in the provision of fish, shellfish and co-products to a global market.

In addition, Ideal Nutritional Foods, a subsidiary of Ideal Foods, is a dedicated B2B supplier of fish products for several leading baby food producers.

Ideal Foods works closely with fish processors and manufacturers to utilise seafood co-products in an innovative way that aims to utilise all material and ultimately add value. Pelagia intends to carry on with this ethos and further develop synergies with Ideal Foods that will have minimal impact to the existing management and team at Ideal Foods, ensuring a continuity of service to all Ideal Foods customers and suppliers.

Ideal Foods is a family run business with head quarters located in the heart of the Cornish countryside.  They also have satellite offices in Grimsby, The Philippines and China.

Pelagia AS is a leading producer of pelagic fish products for human consumption, and an important supplier of essential ingredients in all kinds of fish- and animal feed; protein concentrate, fishmeal, and fish oil. Pelagia is also through our company Epax a leading global producer of concentrated marine-based omega-3 fatty acids for dietary supplement and pharmaceutical preparations.

Pelagia operates 28 departments in Norway, United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark and Ukraine.
