Russian surimi production triples

The volume of surimi production in Russia has tripled this year. This is the raw material that is used in the production of crab sticks. This was stated by the President of the Association of pollock exporters, Alexei Buglak.

According to TASS, 25 thousand tons of raw materials have already been caught this year, and by the end of the year this figure may reach 65 thousand tons. Experts attribute the increase in production to an increase in fleet units capable of producing such products. Today, four vessels carry out processing at sea.

Last year more than eight thousand tons of pollock surimi were supplied to the domestic market. Thus, Russian fishermen have almost completely replaced imported raw materials.
