SKAGINN 3X BOOSTS MANAGEMENT TEAM

Skaginn 3X boosts management team to sustain continued growth. Icelandic food processing leader Skaginn 3X has hired Baldvin Johnsen as the company’s new chief financial officer (CFO).

Baldvin joins Skaginn 3X from Norway-based FrigoCare, a subsidiary of Icelandic shipping firm Samskip, where he held the position of Managing Director. Previously, Johnsen was responsible for FrigoCare’s finance operations.

“Skaginn 3X is among the most innovative companies in Iceland and a global leader in it’s sector. The company has grown rapidly in recent years and I look forward to working towards continued growth and shaping the company’s strategies in cooperation with its talented employees, ”says Baldvin.

Baldvin has extensive experience in financial management. He has worked in the fisheries industry for the past 13 years. In addition to this, he worked as the Treasury Manager of Iceland based Ísfélag Vestamannaeyja before joining FrigoCare, and was responsible for the financial and risk management of the company.

Alda Hlín Karlsdóttir, who joined Skaginn 3X last year, will manage the sales and marketing team in close cooperation with Ingólfur Árnason, the Managing Director and founder of the company, as well as manage Skaginn 3X’s Reykjavík office.

Prior to joining Skaginn 3X, Alda worked as Director of Operations for Iceland based seafood company, Icelandic Group. She has several years of experience in sales and operational affairs and has worked for municipalities and in finance.

“I look forward to taking on this new role within the company. We currently have several projects lined up in all of the company’s key markets and I welcome the challenge and the responsibilities that this role entails.” says Alda Hlín.

Jón Birgir Gunnarsson, former Head of Sales and Marketing for Skaginn 3X, has resigned and taken on a new role as CEO of Icelandic based window firm, Gluggasmiðjan.

“I feel it is time for someone new to take over and continue to build on the excellent results that have been achieved. This is also the right time for me to face new challenges, ”says Jón Birgir.
Skaginn 3X develops, manufactures and sells equipment for the food processing industry. The company has received numerous awards in recent years, such as the Presidential Export Award in 2017.
