TOTAL ICELANDIC CATCH IN NOVEMBER WAS NEARLY 103 THOUSAND TONNES

Total Icelandic catch in November was nearly 103 thousand tonnes. The total fish catch in November 2025 amounted to nearly 103 thousand tonnes, an increase of 9% compared with November last year. Demersal catch rose by 10% year-on-year and pelagic catch by 9%, while flatfish catch decreased by 9%. During the twelve-month period from December 2024 to November 2025, total catch reached 1,040 thousand tonnes, representing a 6% increase compared with the same period a year earlier.

The value of the catch for the last fishing year (September 2024 to August 2025) was 194 billion ISK, which is 14% more than in the previous fishing year, 2023–2024. The value of demersal catch during this period was nearly 147 billion ISK, up 18% from the previous period, while the value of pelagic catch was slightly over 35 billion ISK, a 4% increase from the preceding fishing year.TOTAL ICELANDIC CATCH IN NOVEMBER
