UK WOMEN IN FISHERIES TOPIC GROUPS

UK WOMEN IN FISHERIES TOPIC GROUPS (1)

UK Women in Fisheries topic groups exchange information and share information across sectors and regions. Although women working in UK fisheries are a community that is scattered across the UK, thanks to technology we can come together and exchange information and share experiences. With this in mind, UK Women in Fisheries has launched a series of Topic Group webinars, to discuss the important issues in UK Fisheries today. These topic groups will be a rolling programme. The four current topic groups are:

• Training and Recruitment and clear career pathways
• Vessel Safety, and the new U15m code
• Retail and consumer facing business, maximising sales and selling online
• Policy, Research and Governance and sustainability

The first topic group discussion is on Thursday April 7th, Training and Recruitment, and we will be hearing from Katie Hooper, Seafish Training Adviser, and Ashley Mullenger on career pathways into fishing for women, followed by discussion and chat.

• As always, the webinar talks will be recorded and available to members shortly after the webinar. And as always, to promote openness, the discussion will not be recorded, and Chatham House rules applied.
• UK Women in Fisheries is a membership organisation for women working across UK fisheries.
• These events are members’ only events. Membership is free, and open to all women working in UK fisheries.
