AQUAFARM 2025 HAILED A SUCCESS

AquaFarm 2025 hailed a success
AquaFarm 2025 Marks Record Growth, Strengthening Its Role as a Key Industry Event with increased visitors by 30% and increased exhibitors of which almost 33% were from overseas
One month after the conclusion of the 8th edition of AquaFarm—which saw the return of the unified event alongside NovelFarm and AlgaeFarm—the official data on the presence of potential buyers at the Pordenone exhibition centre has been released.
The figures confirm a 30% increase compared to last year, with a total of 2,400 visitors. A quarter of attendees came from abroad, led by Croatia, which accounted for 16.6% of potential buyers, reaffirming the event’s status as a key reference point for the Balkan region. Notably, there was also strong interest from Brazil, thanks to a delegation organised in collaboration with Agenzia ICE.
On the exhibitor front, there were 110 participants in total, including direct exhibitors, co-exhibitors and represented brands, with nearly a third coming from overseas. France led as the most represented country, followed—somewhat unexpectedly—by the United States, with Spain, Norway and Denmark recording the same number of exhibitors.
A key factor in the success of the 2025 edition was the conference programme, which featured 21 sessions and over 150 events, covering all the most relevant topics across the three sectors: aquaculture, vertical farming and algae farming.
Among the most well-received sessions at AquaFarm were those dedicated to sustainability in aquaculture, energy self-sufficiency and innovative solutions for decarbonising the sector. Also of note were the sessions on “Aquaculture and Fishing Products with Added Value,” which featured leading figures from the fishing supply chain, and the “EU – FEAMPA” session, focusing on European innovations impacting the industry.
At NovelFarm, the opening session, “Indoor Farming in Italy: Technological Greenhouses, Vertical Farms, Urban Agriculture between Regulations, Investments and the Market,” drew considerable attention, with operators, consultants and academic representatives discussing the evolution of controlled agriculture in urban environments.
Another highlight was AlgaeFarm’s closing roundtable on the future of the algae supply chain, which explored the opportunities and challenges facing the sector, from food production to the pharmaceutical industry.
AquaFarm, NovelFarm and AlgaeFarm have once again proven to be essential events for the sector, attracting an increasing number of industry professionals and visitors, thanks to a format that seamlessly integrates exhibitions, high-level professional development, and business opportunities.
The presentations and proceedings from the conference sessions will be published on the event’s official website in the coming days.
The next edition is scheduled for 18–19 February 2026, once again bringing together AquaFarm, NovelFarm and AlgaeFarm at the Pordenone exhibition centre.
AquaFarm is an international exhibition-conference on aquaculture and the sustainable fishing industry, organised by Pordenone Fiere in collaboration with API (Associazione Piscicoltori Italiani), AMA (Associazione Mediterranea Acquacoltori), and Studio Comelli – Conferences & Communication, which manages the conference content and press office. The event was first launched in 2017 and, since 2020, has been permanently accompanied by NovelFarm, an international exhibition-conference on agricultural innovations, indoor and vertical farming. The latest addition, AlgaeFarm, introduced in 2022, is the only event in Italy that brings together research and industry professionals dedicated to the cultivation of microalgae and other microorganisms.
Attendance at the event is free upon online registration at: www.aquafarmexpo.it and www.novelfarmexpo.it.
