BROODSTOCK CAPITAL BUYS MAJORITY OF SHARES IN BILLUND AQUACULTURE NORWAY AS

Broodstock Capital buys majority of shares in Billund Aquaculture Norway AS. Broodstock Capital has taken over ownership control in Billund Aquaculture Norway AS together with Sondre Høidalen and Marius Hægh, who are co-owners and managers in the company.

“We have great faith in the team at Billund Aquaculture Norway in the future, and look forward to continuing the collaboration with the talented employees as well as working further with the exciting solutions the company has,” says Broodstock partner Pål Kristian Moe, who is also the new chairman of the Norwegian board the company.

“The market has seen that Billund’s Aquaculture Norway’s solutions are safe and good, so that customers get robust and stable facilities. This company is very well positioned for further growth,” says Moe.

The background for the change of ownership is a restructuring of the ownership in the Danish company Billund Aquaculture, where the Norwegian company is separated and founder Christian Sørensen, and his family, take over control of the Danish company. The Norwegian company will shortly change its name.

“We have enjoyed being co-owners of Billund Aquaculture with the Sørensen family. Although we now continue separately, we will also be able to collaborate in the future if necessary. The Norwegian company is well equipped to stand on its own two feet,” says Moe

Managing director Sondre Høidalen of the Norwegian company has seen a historically high order intake for new RAS projects in recent months. He has great faith in the further development of the company.

“The market has been very strong and we also expect growth for land-based farming in the future, while at the same time we see that our solutions particularly respond to the needs of customers. We are very happy to be starting what is now an all-Norwegian company, and have several ongoing processes for new, large projects,” says Høidalen.

Broodstock now owns 75 percent of the Norwegian company, while Sondre Høidalen and Marius Hægh will own 12.5 percent each. The transaction took place in July.
