WEST COAST SEA PRODUCTS CELEBRATES MASTER FISHMONGER SUCCESS

West Coast Sea Products celebrates Master Fishmonger success. The UK Seafood Federation (UKSF) is delighted to announce that Adam Kherbouch of West Coast Sea Products has achieved the prestigious Recognised Fishmonger status through the Master Fishmonger Standard (MFS).

This marks an exciting milestone, as West Coast Sea Products becomes the first Scottish business to join the Master Fishmonger Standard under the UK Seafood Federation. The company is renowned for its commitment to quality and sustainability, supplying wholesale customers, restaurants and retail fishmongers across Dumfries and Galloway, as well as exporting further afield into Europe. With its own fleet of vessels, a network of 40 fishermen, more than 100 factory staff, a local fishmonger shop and restaurant, the business is a leading force within the Scottish seafood industry.

Building on Adam’s achievement, colleagues Scott and Holly will also begin the Recognised Fishmonger programme, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to professional development and raising standards across the seafood sector.

In November, all three will attend the Master Fishmonger Standard Annual Awards Lunch in London, where Adam will receive his official Recognised Fishmonger certificate and embroidered badge, while Scott and Holly celebrate the start of their own MFS journey.

The UK Seafood Federation is also delighted that Holly will be competing in this year’s Young Fishmonger Award. Everyone wishes her the very best of luck as she showcases her skills alongside some of the industry’s brightest emerging talent.

Julie Waites, Programme Lead for MFS says ‘Adam’s success reflects the dedication, passion and professionalism demonstrated by the entire team at West Coast Sea Products. Congratulations to Adam on this well-deserved achievement, and best wishes to Scott and Holly as they work towards earning their own Recognised Fishmonger status.
