CHILEAN RESEARCH VOYAGE ON ANCHOVY AND SARDINE
Chilean research voyage on anchovy and sardine. The Chilean scientific vessel Abate Molina sailed from Valparaíso Port earlier this week for a 31 day research voyage between Valparaiso and the north of Caleta Mansa, in the Lagos region.
With a total crew of 25 people, including researchers and crew, the aim is evaluate the anchovy and sardine stock resources which are present between Valparaíso regions and Los Lagos Region during the maximum recruitment period for these fish, through hydroacoustic methods.
The research area is between the northern limit of the Valparaíso region (parallel 32º10’S) and the north of the parallel Mansa cove (40º20’S), between the coast and the western limit of the continental shelf.
