ELDI AQUA DELIVERS FIRST FULL-SCALE BIOSEIZE SYSTEM TO LERØY SJØTROLL

ELDI AQUA DELIVERS FIRST FULL-SCALE BIOSEIZE SYSTEM

ELDI Aqua delivers first full-scale bioseize system to Lerøy Sjøtroll. ELDI Aqua has signed an agreement to deliver a full-scale pilot facility featuring its newly developed sludge management technology to Lerøy Sjøtroll. The delivery marks a milestone in the commercialisation of the BioSeize technology and represents the first full-scale installation of the solution in the market.

The delivery follows an extensive development and testing program carried out in close collaboration between ELDI Aqua, Rotor Aqua, and Lerøy Sjøtroll. BioSeize has been developed as a dedicated solution for gentler collection and handling of sludge in marine aquaculture operations.

BioSeize is designed to preserve the quality of the collected material throughout the entire process. Compared with traditional solutions, the sludge is handled more gently, reducing processing requirements, potentially increasing the value of the end product, and providing better conditions for further utilisation—for example, as fertiliser or biofuel.

“Lerøy’s decision to select BioSeize for its sea-based farming facility at the Blom site confirms that the technology addresses a genuine need for a leading player in the industry. This is an important breakthrough in the transition from development to the commercial phase,” says Thomas Myrvold, CEO of ELDI Group.

The solution has been developed to meet clear industrial requirements for operational reliability, energy efficiency, and future digital integration capabilities.

“This delivery marks a clear transition from pilot testing to industrial application. BioSeize has been developed to handle sludge more gently, while also significantly reducing energy consumption and requiring less space onboard the feeding barge. The design of the net and collection system ensures complete separation of sludge and mortalities, while greatly simplifying installation, operation, and maintenance,” says Yngve Askeland, CTO of ELDI Group.

The delivery to Lerøy represents an important step in ELDI Aqua’s continued investment in sludge and waste management solutions for the aquaculture industry. The company is also experiencing growing interest in BioSeize from other markets.
