HISTORIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT SIGNED

Historic cooperation agreement signed between KIMO and North Sea Commission. Today marked the start of an official partnership between KIMO and the CPMR’s North Sea Commission, as members at KIMO’s Annual General Meeting witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two international organisations.
The agreement relates to cooperation and collaboration on the organisations’ joint ambitions to address plastics and other marine litter on the shores of the North Sea Region and to ensure that the seas and coastal waters of the North Sea Region are clean, healthy, safe, free from pollution and preserved for future generations.
KIMO was delighted to welcome the President of the North Sea Commission, Kerstin Brunnström, to KIMO’s AGM to sign the MoU on behalf of the North Sea Commission alongside KIMO President Robert te Beest, signing on behalf of KIMO.
President te Beest said
We are very much looking forward to working with the North Sea Commission to harmonise local and regional solutions to reduce the input of plastics into our seas and ensure our shorelines are plastic-free.
