HOBSONS FISH CELEBRATE 50 YEARS

Hobsons Fish celebrate 50 years in business. Hobsons are set to celebrate 50 years serving the fish processing industry. Based on the iconic Grimsby Fish Dock the company reaches its milestone anniversary with a renewed perspective and ambitious plans, securing the company’s position in the processing field.

Set up by William Hobson back in December 1971, the business has seen the highs of the 70’s when the docks were bustling with activity to the lows as Grimsby saw a decline in its once thriving fishing industry. Fast forward to 2021 and Hobsons, has held its position strong with a takeover by GWS Seafoods and partner Croft Holdings last year bringing with them 20 years of shellfish processing knowledge and vast exportation sales expertise.

Director Samantha Stork and her team have had a transformative year despite the pandemic with continual growth and development. This has allowed Hobsons to grow and open new markets with their new shellfish processing department now on-site alongside the original processing facilities.

Samantha, on the impending 50th anniversary comments:

“I’d like to thank all our customers and colleagues who have supported Hobsons over the years. 50 years is a huge milestone for the company, and we are delighted to be celebrating this month.”

The next few years are set to be both exciting and innovative for the business, driving the shellfish processing services Hobsons has to offer, whilst helping the local community by creating more full-time permanent jobs here in Grimsby.
