9th Icelandic Fisheries Awards highlights success within the commercial fishing industry

The 9th Icelandic Fisheries Awards, hosted by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and the City of Kópavogur, took place last night following day one of the globally renowned Icelandic Fisheries, Seafood & Aqua Exhibition.

First introduced in 1999, the evening recognises and awards excellence within the Icelandic and International Fishing Industry, highlighting the most innovative and ground-breaking products and rewarding outstanding service.

This year’s event started by celebrating a remarkable milestone—40 incredible years of Icefish. An extraordinary journey filled with innovation and collaboration. A special award was presented to each of Icefish’s dedicated exhibitors:

Atlas, Baader, Borgarplast, Fridrik A. Johnsson ehf. Marel, Danish Export Association. Eimskip, Fiskifrettir, Hampidjan, Olis, Hedinn, Saeplast, Slippurinn, DNG, Style Technology & Scanmar.

The winners were selected by a judging panel spearheaded by Jason Holland, Editor, World Fishing & Aquaculture. The awards were sponsored by Vonin.

Held at the beautiful Salurinn music hall, the event was compered by TV Presenter Gisli Marteinn.
