PORTION CUTTING PARTNERSHIP

PORTION CUTTING PARTNERSHIP

Portion cutting partnership. Borncut and Uni-Food Technic partner up in Iceland to offer high grade intelligent portion cutters directly to the Icelandic industry.

Borncut Portioning Machines’ new home grounds are now in Iceland, bringing high precision portion cutting closer to the Icelandic industry segment. Thanks to Borncut and Uni-Food
Technic Iceland’s new partnership, Icelandic processors can now acquire Borncut Portioning Machines directly from their local Uni-Food Technic division.

The company’s CEO, Sigurjón Gísli Jónsson or Sjonni, is a seasoned industry veteran, well known for his work for companies like Morrisons, Marel, Vinnslustodin, Edalfiskur and Nordanfiskur. Since early 2024, Sjonni has spearheaded the Icelandic division of Danish fish processing equipment manufacturer Uni-Food Technic.

Focusing on intelligent portioning solutions, the Borncut Portioning Machines complement the Uni-Food Technic’s filleting, slicing, and portioning lines perfectly. Built on the pioneering
technology of the first portion cutters, the Borncut Portioning Machines stand out with their flexible, high-speed precision cutting, ideal for the competitive field of whitefish and salmon
portioning.

“This partnership is another step in expanding our market presence and bringing what we believe is simply the best portioner on the market to Icelandic customers,” says Sven Bækhoj Jensen, Sales Director of Borncut. “This machine was designed and made in Bornholm Denmark by the same people who made the world’s first portion cutter and also helped design
the portioner sold by Marel.”

“The Borncut portioning machine is simply a cut above the rest,” adds Sven.

“We are excited to partner with Borncut on the Icelandic market and promote our comprehensive lines of products,” says Sigurjon Gisli Jonsson, CEO and co-owner of Uni-Food Technic Iceland. “Our product lines and stand-alone products are a perfect match, especially for the salmon industry. We are here to serve customers on a personal level, bringing over 30 years of experience to the table. With the new partnership we will be able to offer even better after-sales and spare parts delivery services than before.”

Meet the team at Uni-Food Technic Iceland’s in Hall 2 stand D10 at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition on September 18-20, 2024.
