SEAFOOD EXPO GLOBAL/SEAFOOD PROCESSING GLOBAL’S 32ND EDITION TO BE THE LARGEST IN THE EVENT’S HISTORY

Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global’s 32nd edition, to be the largest in the event’s history. The world’s largest seafood trade event, will welcome exhibitors from over 80 countries to Barcelona’s Gran Via Venue from 21-23 April 2026.

Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, the world’s leading seafood trade event, will bring the global seafood industry together for its largest edition to date. The Expo has over 52,907 net square meters of exhibition space sold to date—a figure that is still growing. The event reinforces its position as the essential global meeting point for the industry, occupying the main halls of Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Vía venue.

The international presence confirmed for this edition highlights the event’s global scale, featuring exhibitors from a growing list of over 80 countries and 62 national and regional pavilions. This year, the Expo welcomes new exhibiting pavilions including the Association of the fish products producers “BG FISH” (Bulgaria), Maldives Fisheries & Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation (Maldives), Instituto Yucateco de Emprendedores (Mexico), and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates- Madayn (Oman) and Infopesca (Uruguay). This extensive international scale, complemented by countries like Canada, Chile, China, Ecuador Norway, the United States and Vietnam, ensures that attendees have access to an unparalleled range of products and solutions from every corner of the globe.

Ireland and the UK make its mark

Ireland and the UK will have a strong presence, with the participation of 74 exhibiting companies among a diverse international line-up and still growing. This participation underscores the strategic importance of the Irish, English and Scottish seafood industries at the largest and most diverse seafood trade event for the sector.

Seafish will once again partner with the UK Government to host a dedicated UK Pavilion, marking the fifth consecutive year the organisation has co-ordinated the national showcase.

Seafood Scotland will also lead the Scotland Pavilion, marking the organisation’s 32nd year coordinating Scotland’s presence at the event. The pavilion is delivered in collaboration with Scottish Development International (SDI) and will highlight the strength and diversity of Scotland’s seafood sector to international buyers.

Leading Irish companies such as Atlantic Dawn, Connemara Seafoods, Errigal Bay, Glenmar Shellfish Ltd, Keohane Seafood Ltd, Killybegs Seafoods, Premier Fish Products, and Rockabill Seafood Ltd, alongside leaders in processing equipment, packaging, logistics and services like O’Toole Transport Ltd and more, will be present.

Similarly, key UK industry players including Denholm Seafoods Ltd, Marine Stewardship Council International, J Marr (Seafoods) Ltd, Rooney Fish, Unibond, Scottish Fishermen’s Organisation, Sea Fish Industry Authority, Macduff Shellfish, Trinity Seafoods, and Vestey Foods International, alongside leaders in processing equipment, packaging, logistics and services such as Ace Aquatec Ltd, DFDS Logistics Limited, Tri-pack Packaging Systems Ltd, and Kuehne + Nagel and more will also participate.

Debut of the Aquaculture Innovation Zone

The event will debut a dedicated platform geared towards first-time exhibitors showcasing aquaculture solutions. This space will connect companies at the forefront of aquaculture technology, software and equipment with the global sector.

The pavilion features suppliers, start-ups and researchers delivering breakthrough solutions in critical areas such as management and monitoring, animal health and welfare and sustainable feed. This dedicated area will attract a highly targeted global audience of hatchery staff, investors, policymakers, and other innovators.

Furthermore, it will feature an aquaculture meet-up for professionals to network and learn about the latest advancements, as well as expert-led conference sessions diving into the innovations driving the aquaculture sector forward.

A global platform for seafood industry

At Seafood Expo Global, exhibitors showcase the latest innovations in seafood products – fresh, frozen, canned, preserved, value-added, processed, and packaged – to buyers from around the world, including supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, catering companies, importers, distributors, seafood markets and other retail and foodservice businesses.

Economist and geopolitical strategist Dr. Nomi Prins will deliver the 2026 keynote address. The discussion, titled “High Stakes, Shifting Tides: The Global Outlook on Seafood, Trade, Economic Pressure Points and Opportunities” will provide attendees with a tailored economic outlook for 2026.

The 2026 Conference Programme will feature more than 20 educational sessions, presented by top seafood industry experts. The program will offer a comprehensive look at the future of the industry, bridging the gap between technological innovation and sustainable stewardship. Key sessions will explore the integration of automation and machine learning alongside sustainable blue food policies and strategies, emerging market trends and product innovation.
