SSP WELCOMES THREE NEW ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

SSP welcomes three new associate members: Aker QRILL Company, EDISA and MILANPLASTIC. Companies specialising in aquaculture nutrition, digital traceability and packaging join SSP, the Ecuadorian initiative that promotes responsible, sustainable and competitive shrimp aquaculture.

Aker QRILL Company, EDISA and MILANPLASTIC have joined Sustainable Shrimp Partnership (SSP) as new Associate Members. Their addition expands this precompetitive collaborative ecosystem, where producers and companies across the shrimp value chain join efforts to promote more sustainable and responsible production practices.

“We are excited to welcome Aker QRILL Company, EDISA, and MILANPLASTIC to SSP. The addition of new Associate Members allows us to bring together capabilities, experience, and new perspectives to continue driving the continuous improvement of the shrimp industry. We are convinced that collaboration is the best way to identify opportunities that benefit the entire sector,” said Pamela Nath, Director of SSP.

 Webjørn Barstad, CEO of Aker QRILL Company, a manufacturer of krill meal and krill oil for aquaculture nutrition, stated: 

“We are very pleased to become part of this organisation. Although we have collaborated on several initiatives in the past and have closely followed the important work SSP has carried out to strengthen Ecuador’s shrimp industry, we are excited to officially join this initiative and take on a more active role both within SSP and across the industry as a whole.”

 For his part, Esteban Gallegos, Business Development Officer at EDISA in Ecuador, a company specialising in digital management and traceability solutions for the aquaculture and shrimp industries, highlighted:

“For EDISA, joining SSP as an Associate Member reflects our commitment to the digital transformation of the shrimp industry and to the development of solutions that strengthen its sustainability. Being part of this alliance gives us the opportunity to contribute our experience in digital traceability and to continue promoting tools that foster transparency, trust, and value creation throughout the entire value chain.”

 Finally, Jose Baum, General Manager of MILANPLASTIC, a company dedicated to developing packaging solutions for the food industry, stated:

 With the addition of Aker QRILL Company, EDISA, and MILANPLASTIC, SSP continues to expand its network. These new Associate Members join Adisseo, Banco Guayaquil, BASF, BioMar, Sustainable Shrimp Partnership Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health, Corbion, dsm-firmenich, INVE Aquaculture, Skretting, and Vitapro. The initiative is complemented by Founding Members Champmar, Corporación LANEC, Omarsa, Promarisco, and Songa, and by Agrosuncorp as a Collaborating Member.
