THE FISHING AND AQUACULTURE INDUSTRY MEETS AT COLDWATER SEAFOOD FROM 10 TO 12 OCTOBER

THE FISHING AND AQUACULTURE INDUSTRY MEETS

The fishing and aquaculture industry meets at ColdWater Seafood from 10 to 12 October. ColdWater Seafood, the event that brings the fishing industry together.

From 10 to 12 October 2023, ColdWater Seafood will take place. It will be the largest face-to-face trade event for the seafood sector, providing the industry with a valuable global trading platform and considerable economic impact for exhibitors. Seafood products from the cold, fresh waters of the north are increasingly in demand. Especially as they are known for their excellent quality and for being raised in the cleanest waters on the planet. This is why the brand new trade fair is coming to the heart of Europe at the RAI Amsterdam.

A close and connected event

ColdWater Seafood 2023 is a unique opportunity for exhibitors, whether they are suppliers, buyers, authorities, distributors or manufacturers, to do business face-to-face. In 2020, household expenditure on fisheries and aquaculture products in the EU-27 reached €59.7 billion. With these facts in mind, ColdWater Seafood aims to be a connecting, face-to-face event, where exhibitors present the latest seafood products – fresh, frozen, canned, value-added, processed and packaged – to seafood buyers from around the world, including supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, caterers, importers, distributors, seafood markets and other retail and catering businesses.

The fisheries sector is moving towards greater sustainability

Fishing in northern waters is strictly regulated and transparent. All activities are extremely well documented. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), almost 30% of the world’s fish stocks are overexploited. As a result, the European Commission is forging alliances with key partners to try and tackle illegal fishing and overcapacity on a global scale. This is why the Coldwater Seafood exhibition is a major event in 2023, bringing together the various players in the sector, specialists and the authorities in order to make progress on this issue. Today, sustainable harvesting is increasingly important for all those involved in aquaculture or fisheries. Sustainability is a top priority for the sector and during the three full days of the RAI Amsterdam, the exhibitors of the brand new ColdWater Seafood show will be able to showcase their expertise and innovations in sustainability.
