ABERDEEN CITY PLACED BACK IN LOCKDOWN
Aberdeen city placed back in lockdown. Aberdeen city has been put back on lockdown following a spike in coronavirus cases. Hospitality venues – including pubs, cafes and restaurants – have been ordered to close.
The restrictions came into force at 5pm on Wednesday.
The five-mile travel restriction has also been resumed for leisure and recreation. Householders are also prohibited from holding gatherings indoors.
The restrictions will be reviewed in a week’s time.
Speaking about the news Stuart Devine of the Ashvale said:
“Just as we had all started to move forward, this news has come as a devastating blow. We are just at the start of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme which had given more customers the confidence to eat out.
We have set our shops up to be Covid ready and safe for customers. On Tuesday night we welcomed 120 covers which is just under half of our full capacity which was pleasing as a business.
Two of our restaurants closed at 5pm on Wednesday, but our takeaways remained open and the work which we have already undertaken in offering click and collect and deliveries will further help our business.
However big the blow is to us, people’s health must come first and whatever happens we will come through this again” ABERDEEN CITY PLACED
