BEAL’S LOBSTER PIER CELEBRATE NATIONAL LOBSTER DAY

Beal’s Lobster Pier Celebrate National Lobster Day

Beal’s Lobster Pier Celebrate National Lobster Day

Beal’s Lobster Pier, the iconic Mt Desert Island restaurant and working lobster and fish pier, announced that it celebrated National Lobster Day (September 25th) and its 90th Anniversary with a special promotion to honour the lobster industry and community.

Beal’s showed its support for Maine lobstermen and women by having its restaurant staff wear something red and asking its customers to do the same. Any customer wearing red received a 20% discount on their order and all Maine Commercial Lobstering License Holders also received 20% off by showing their license. Beal’s will also be donating a portion of the day’s profits to the Maine Lobstermen’s Association.

“Our 90th anniversary year has been both rewarding and challenging,” said Stu Snyder, co-owner of Beal’s Lobster Pier. “The season has included variable lobster pricing, higher costs in general, and the recent announcement of the red listing of lobster. Through it all, we loved taking care of our customers and appreciated and supported our fishermen and vendors as we have for almost a century.”

National Lobster Day is observed each year on September 25th to recognise those in the industry who work so hard to catch, process, prepare, serve, and ship lobster all over the country. According to the Maine Department of Marine Resources, about 108 million pounds of lobster was caught last year, the most since 2018.

Beal’s Lobster Pier, the restaurant, direct to consumer and seafood wholesaler, celebrated its 90th anniversary this summer serving its fresh lobsters, and award-winning lobster rolls, clams, and fresh seafood.  A fully functional, working lobster/fish pier and restaurant, people come from all over United States and the world to eat and experience the waterfront and fishing boats unloading their catch.

While the restaurant will close for the winter in October it’s Beal’s at Home overnight shipping service continues to be available all year-round through www.bealslobster.com and Goldbelly.
