DIALOGUE ON SMALL SCALE FISHERIES

DIALOGUE ON SMALL SCALE FISHERIES

Dialogue on small scale fisheries. Small Scale Fisheries – Tech and Markets Collective (SSF) are often left at the margins as seafood supply chains move to digital data and traceability, often because the systems weren’t built with them in mind. We’d like to change that.

The Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability (GDST) has approved a new Dialogue on Small Scale Fisheries (wild capture), facilitated by the Small-Scale Fishery Intermediary Collective.

#GDST sets the standard for interoperable digital data exchange that underpins supply-chain traceability. The Dialogues aim: make the GDST standard workable for small-scale fisheries without weakening its credibility – so that SSF are not excluded from the markets that increasingly require this data.

We’re now looking for participants: If you work in small-scale fisheries, equitable seafood markets, supply-chain data and #traceability, or the supply chains SSF products move through, we’d like you in the virtual room as all dialogue are open to all and run online.

We’re also particularly keen to involve government and fisheries authorities as much of this work connects directly to national registration, licensing and how small-scale fisheries are defined – and your perspective is essential to getting it right.

The dialogue is planned to run for about a year, via calls every 6–8 weeks. The anticipated date for the launch call is the week of 20 July.

Register your interest here by 19 July 2026 to join the launch call: https://lnkd.in/ga5nE7AR
