ICEFISH 2022 OPENS TODAY

icefish 2022 opens today

IceFish 2022 opens today.

The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition, or IceFish as it’s known, opens its doors today and will welcome exhibitors and attendees from around the world, at Smárinn, Kópavogur, Iceland.

Established in 1984 and held every 3 years, in this case 5 years due to covid, exhibiting companies at IceFish will showcase their newest technologies, products and services to both attendees and potential customers from a range of commercial fisheries organisations and associated businesses.

This year’s IceFish exhibition will include:

– A virtual IceFish exhibition running alongside the in person event

– Industry variety as the sector continues the move into processing of seafood

– Matchmaking meetings (8-9 June)

– The 8th Icefish awards, recognising excellence in the industry

The exhibition will be officially opened by Svandís Svavarsdóttir, Icelandic Minister of Food, Fisheries and Agriculture and the Mayor of Kópavogur.

After long anticipation we can’t wait to welcome you today.

Awards

The Icelandic Fisheries Awards recognises the depth of excellence in commercial fishing and celebrates the outstanding individuals and innovative companies that comprise this vibrant and productive industry sector.

The awards were first introduced in 1999 and the stature of this event has grown over the years. The awards are hotly contested and are now truly seen as an accolade with winners using their success in the awards to promote their company and products.

The 8th Icefish awards will take place immediately after the closure of the first day of the exhibition – Wednesday 8 June 2022

The ceremony will be in the format of a cocktail reception, offering great networking opportunities for all.

The awards evening has become synonymous with the venue – the beautiful Gerðarsafn – Kópavogur Art Museum, which is only five minutes away from the exhibition.
