NEW DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION AND SUSTAINABILITY

New Director of Communication and Sustainability – AKVA group has hired Ståle Økland (44) in a newly created position as Director of Communication and Sustainability. He will be responsible for the company’s internal and external communication, public relations and special responsibility for AKVA group’s commitment to sustainability.

Ståle Økland comes from the position as a senior adviser in the Conservative parliamentary group, where he has written speeches for the Prime Minister and management team, as well as worked with the development of politics and rhetoric.

Økland has previously worked several years in the advertising industry and as a lecturer. He is the author of several books in the documentary genre and has been deputy mayor of Time municipality. Ståle Økland has a degree in sociology, history and German.

“A lot of exciting things are happening in the traditional aquaculture industry and in land-based aquaculture. AKVA group is in a promising development, and we use sustainable development as a basis for further innovation and growth. We look forward to having Ståle in our team from 1 June, and believe he can add a lot of valuable knowledge to AKVA group,” says Knut Nesse, CEO of AKVA group.
