NEW SEAFISH REGIONAL MANAGER FOR WALES
New Seafish Regional Manager for Wales. Seafish, the public body that supports the £10bn UK seafood industry is delighted to welcome a new member to its Regional team.
Dr Emma Wootton joins the team as Regional Manager for Wales. She is based in Pembrokeshire, SW Wales and will be working alongside Dr Holly Whiteley who is based in North Wales.
Emma is a highly experienced marine researcher with a strong track record of working with UK inshore fishing and aquaculture industries; and over 25 years’ experience living and working in South Wales. She is an expert in shellfisheries with a detailed knowledge of the seafood supply chain, and has delivered fisheries-related projects in academia, as well as the public sector.
On taking up the new role Emma said:
“I’m looking forward to working with my Seafish colleagues and the Seafish Wales Advisory Committee to deliver projects and initiatives of benefit to the Welsh seafood industry.”
The Seafish Regional team is made up of individuals who work locally, to ensure engagement in key regions and help with communication and local coordination of activities. This approach recognises the diverse nature of the seafood industry in different areas across the country and helps to support seafood businesses all over the UK.
