SCOTTISH SHELLFISH LAUNCHES NEW CONSUMER WEBSITE

SCOTTISH SHELLFISH LAUNCHES

Scottish Shellfish launches new consumer website. Scottish Shellfish has launched a new consumer website to help promote the benefits that mussels bring.

Scottish Shellfish is a co-operative of mussel and oyster farmers, and the new website – www.eatscottishmussels.co.uk – covers areas such as how mussels are grown, how they positively impact the environment and our health, and how simple they are to cook.

SSMG says:

Scottish Farmed Mussels are one of the most sustainable seafood choices you can make. They’re not only good for the planet but they’re for us too, with 14 important nutrients that help to keep us healthy. They’re super easy to prepare and cook and taste totally delicious.”

Rich in nutrients that many people are commonly deficient in, including Omega-3, Iodine and vitamin B12, good for brain health and overall wellbeing. Now SSMG are working on spreading the message that Mussels are a superpower!

Farmed Scottish Mussels, like those usually found in supermarkets and restaurants, are a sustainable choice and green-rated on the Marine Conservation Societies’ Good Fish Guide.

Did you know that Mussels have a lower carbon footprint than any other farmed animal protein in the UK.?

Mussels grow on ropes attached to floats that are suspended in the water. They grow by filtering nutrients and plankton from the sea.
