Since the award-winning family run smokehouse opened its doors, it has produced Scottish smoked salmon in the truly traditional way.
Its red brick kilns date back to 1857 and have been listed by Historic Scotland for their cultural significance, have survived throughout the 20th century and now take pride of place at the centre of the smokehouse. They are used daily to smoke the highest quality salmon from the northwest waters of Scotland and create what many world-class chefs claim to be the best smoked salmon in the world.
John Ross proudly supplies its smoked salmon nationally, directly to fishmongers, delicatessens, hotels, restaurants and retailers (both independent and multiples) as well as to over 25 countries around the world. It is also a two-time winner of the Queen’s Award for Export in 2000 and 2016.
