AKVA PARTNERS WITH DOKK HUSØY ON CONCRETE FEED BARGES

Fish Focus February 13, 2026
AKVA PARTNERS WITH DOKK HUSØY

Akva partners with DOKK Husøy on concrete feed barges. AKVA group has entered into a strategic partnership with DOKK Husøy for the supply of concrete feed barges to the aquaculture industry. The partnership strengthens AKVA group’s position as a full-service supplier in the barge market and provides customers with greater choice in terms of materials and solutions.

Over the past six years, DOKK Husøy has produced and delivered more than 40 concrete barges, establishing itself as a solid and experienced supplier with documented quality in its deliveries. Through this partnership, DOKK Husøy becomes a key collaborator for AKVA group within the concrete segment. DOKK Husøy is based at Husøy in the municipality of Karmøy, Rogaland.

“AKVA group aims to meet the market as a comprehensive supplier of barge solutions. Concrete represents a growing share of the total market, and this partnership better equips us to offer customers what they actually demand – regardless of material choice,” says Erlend Røed Gundersen, COO of AKVA group.

The partnership primarily covers the Nordic region and Scotland and enables AKVA group to offer complete barge setups in both steel and concrete. This provides increased flexibility for farmers operating under different site conditions and operational requirements.

“We are proud to enter into a partnership with AKVA group. They hold a strong position in the market and have a clear ambition to be a total supplier. Together, we can offer robust and proven concrete solutions to a broader range of markets,” says Arnt Ove Tangsgjerd, Managing Director of DOKK Husøy.

AKVA group has traditionally supplied steel barges but now sees a clear need to expand its offering. The partnership with DOKK Husøy marks an important step forward and supports the company’s ambition to deliver complete and tailored solutions to the aquaculture industry.
