Fjordvejs Maskinfabrik changes name to FM Bulk Handling – Fjordvejs. Fjordvejs Maskinfabrik is a Danish manufacturer of transport solutions for the fisheries industry and it now has a new name. The name change is because of some very positive developments. The company’s continued expansion of its international customer base has meant that it needed a more international-sounding name so Fjordvejs Maskinfabrik is now called FM Bulk Handling – Fjordvejs.

“Over time we found ourselves with an ever-increasing international customer base and Fjordvejs Maskinfabrik
can be difficult to pronounce if you’re from Chile, Morocco or Australia,” says company CEO Jeppe Bergmann
Rasmussen. The new name FM Bulk Handling is also more representative of the company’s actual activities.

Experts in the low-impact management and processing of bulk products Mr Bergmann Rasmussen explains that “all the machinery we develop and manufacture is used in the management and processing of bulk products: fish feed, fish meal, lime, grain etc. Making Bulk Handling part of our name is a more precise reflection of this.” FM Bulk Handling develops and supplies transport solutions for production plants, fish farms and many other types of operations. Their expertise lies in transporting loose products with such low impact that they do not crumble and end up being wasted. When combined, this expertise and the solid quality that is delivered by FM Bulk Handling – Fjordvejs make our customers worldwide more competitive and this has allowed the Danish factory to grow.

On the right path for the future

FM Bulk Handling – Fjordvejs has seen robust growth. The company’s turnover has tripled over the last seven
years. During this period, Jeppe Bergmann Rasmussen became co-owner and CEO. Former CEO Henry K.
Petersen retains co-ownership and serves today as the executive chairman of the board of directors.

Now that the generational change has been implemented, FM Bulk Handling – Fjordvejs is well equipped to
continue its positive development. This increase in turnover has been achieved without having to exponentially
increase costs or the number of employees. Manufacturing has been streamlined by the introduction of modern welding robots, laser cutters and other new technologies, without sacrificing quality standards of the company’s craftsmanship. “Our solutions have always been all about quality craftsmanship and nothing will be changing in that regard. We only streamline or modernise our processes when it makes sense to do so and when we can do it while still delivering the same quality of craftsmanship,” says Mr Bergmann Rasmussen.

Maintaining a history that is strong in tradition

The change of name is not an indicator of a change in strategy or an intent to compromise on quality. FM Bulk
Handling – Fjordvejs will continue to develop unique solutions and plant systems that are customised to the
requirements and bulk products of each customer. “Fjordvejs” signals the company’s continued alignment with
its original values and approximately 65 years of history. FM Bulk Handling – Fjordvejs will continue to develop
and manufacture its products in Denmark. They have, however, already set up sales offices in Atlanta in the USA.
